Birthday invitation and craft activity ...

As I haven't had a chance/energy to post what I've been working on, I'm a bit behind in sharing everything.  Here's the birthday invitation I came up with for my neighbour's daughter ... yup, another one!  I don't plan on making birthday invitations for all the kids in our neighbourhood ... in case you were wondering :)

They came over to help put them together ... her daughter coloured the butterfly ... she's so cute (her daughter that is ... the butterfly's cute too)!  I finished them up on during the evening and at lunch time.  It was a bit more work than the invitations I did for my other neighbour's daughter.  However, I just had to make 10, so it wasn't too bad.  Here it is ... what do you think?

Yup, you pull the little tab, and it displays part of the invitation :)

Also, I came up with an idea for a craft activity during the birthday party.  We would make a little notebook ... at first, I thought we could buy a notebook from the dollar store and decorate it.  However, they do not have ones where the pages are blank.  Then I figure why don't we just make a simple notebook ... it's not like I haven't done this before!  I prepared the pages; and at the party, the kids just had to pick the colour for the notebook cover and decorate it.  I brought a bunch of stamps, colour pencils, markers, die cuts, stickers, stickles, etc., and we were good to go :)  I think they all had fun making this!  Here are a few examples I made of the notebook, so they knew what we were doing.

I made a few mini notebooks as part of our gift for the birthday girl ... I left one blank, and the other two I stamped some images for her to colour.  I decided to emboss the cover and put the letter "P" for her name.  Doing this brings me back ... I remember making notebooks with paper when I was younger.  However, they were really simple nothing fancy ... didn't have the tools and stuff we have now :)

Merry Christmas!!

Hope you have an amazing day filled with laughter, fun, and lots of wonderful surprises!!  Enjoy!!

Yesterday, we put up our little tree from Aunt T ... hubbie put the tree together, and I decorated it :).  This morning when I went down to make breakfast, there was something under the tree ... a gift!!  I couldn't stop laughing ... nope, it was not Santa ... I'm sure you can guess who's handy work this is.  Anyway, I just had to share this ...

Kitimat ...

So continuing from my last post ... we left Vancouver for Kitimat that Sunday evening and got to Terrace, which is about 1.5-hour drive from Kitimat.  Usually, my business trips comprise of seeing the conference room.  However, this time we got a chance to get out and see Kitimat briefly.  A colleague took us for a drive ... you can see the amazing mountains in the background.

We saw this waterfall about 10 minutes from the office.

We went out one evening looking to find a lake (can't remember the name); however, we were not able to get closer as the roads were closed at that time.  I noticed an opening, however, it lead to someone's private land.  We went briefly to take a few pictures ... as you can see it was an amazing view.

December ... already!?

Can't believe it's already December ... time seem to just fly by!!  Let's see ... what have I been up to since the last post?  Well, I went to Vancouver/Kitimat at the end of October.  I was in Kitimat for work for a week but decided to go the Vancouver a day earlier to visit.  It's actually the first time I've done that ... usually, I just go for the time required.  Vancouver is great ... I'd definitely go back ... and the weather was amazing when we were there.  Oh and another cool thing ... my room got upgraded to one with a habour view.  Here a couple of pics of the view from my room :)

Here's a few pics of Vancouver ... it reminded me of Montreal, except it had Mont-Royal and the Old Port in one location.  Our hotel was pretty close to the habour and within walking distance of Stanley Park.  At the start of our walk, I saw this blue thing ... no clue what it is.

Here's a close up of that blue thing ... still don't know what that is.

Along our walk, there was a house suspended ... hope no one lives there ... quite the step down!

As you can see, the view was amazing and so was the weather ... all this taken with my phone :)

It rained the next day but stopped by about 7:30 a.m.  It was another nice day!

Yup, more pictures of planes :)
